Being Junior Match Captain

We expect / hope that we can have all players being captain as we want eleven captains on the field, not one.
We have found it raises their game; and awareness of the match / fielding positions and is a great experience for them.

Being captain can be seen as daunting. However, with a little preperation, this can cover much of the duties.
He / she will never be on their own and every coach has been a captain and will be ready to help.

1. Preperation

The preparation will be completed with (or by) a Llandudno Cricket Coach.

1. Batting order
   From the list, pair them up; the stronger bowlers at the end.
2. Bowling Order
   From the list, pair them up; the stronger batters at the end.
   * Make note of the wicket keeper and when / if they are going to bowl.
3. Fielding
   Note down some strong players and have them in 4 prominent positions.
   Fill in the areas with the other people.
   You will rotate people so don't worry.

2. On match day

1. Before the match
   It is hoped the captain will give a small prep talk to the players.
   It doesn't have to be much; just saying to support each other and talk to each other can be enough.
2. The match
   Rotating fielding positions is necessary due to bowling and keeping the fielders fresh.
   Some times it can be intimidating to talk loud / give instructions ("Walking In" is always a good one to start with)
   Don't worry, help will be on hand.
3. After match
   It is hoped the captain will give a small review to the players.
   It doesn't have to be much; just saying thank you and well done may be enough.

NEVER THINK YOU CANNOT BE CAPTAIN - YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BECAUSE YOU CAN.
